An Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) is a the most directly representative elected body in the District of Columbia. ANCs were created together with the office of Mayor and the Council of the District of Columbia through the District’s Home Rule Charter. More information on ANCs is available at anc.dc.gov.
